Easy Access Self Storage Stockport Easy Access Self Storage Trafford
And so it seems as though Mr Bailey the director of Easy Access Self Storage is happy to attempt to defend his refusal to repay £42 in court
It will be interesting to see how you defend the indefensible - According to our legal advice, there is no defense!
We have a written contract and have adhered to all the terms and conditions and paid over three years fees in full, on time, every time
Witnesses will be called including his own staff, customers who have had their rent doubled or worse without warning
Customers who have had a car stolen in broad daylight
Last but not least the council Environment Health Officer who visited and reported the rat infestation
To say it will be a very interesting few days in court and subpoenas may need to be served on some of the witnesses who may be reluctant, mainly because they fear for their jobs or being evicted from the site without notice
Thank you for your kind support and keep checking in for updates

Before signing up for storage, do some quick maths. Say you're spending
£120 a month to stack up an old Magimix, a pile of books, and a sofabed
in a self-storage unit. You might think you're keeping it there for just
six months, but be realistic — it'll likely stretch to at least two
years. That's £2,800 you'll spend. You could buy a new Magimix, a Kindle
and very nice new sofabed for that.
Don't be emotional about storage. If you need a nudge, money can be an incentive. Sell your goods on eBay (wait for free listing days to make the best return), advertise them locally, or offer them to friends and colleagues on Facebook and Twitter.
If you are feeling kind, give unwanted items to a charity who will often collect for free. Some boroughs run furniture re-use projects, too. In Barnet, for example, a project collects good-quality furniture and crockery, gives the unemployed work in restoring them, and then sells them on at affordable prices.
Restore Community Projects collect furniture and appliances from homes in Barnet, Brent, Camden, Enfield, Hackney, Haringey, Islington, Redbridge, Tower Hamlets and Waltham Forest for the homeless or those in social need.
* Are there any extra costs, such as insurance, VAT, credit-card fees etc, and can you provide your own padlock or must you buy one of theirs?
* Can you use your own insurance?
* What's the size of the container and its average contents?
* Does the monthly rate cover an "introductory period" or is it fixed?
* Are there restrictions on what type of thing you can store?
* With traditional storage how much notice is required before you can visit or leave the unit?
* How easy is it to get my deposit back in full?
* Are there RATS or other rodents on the site
* Has anyone had a car stolen from here in broad daylight?
* Do you increase your charges threefold with little notice?
* Have you ever just decided to up sticks and move your facility miles with little notice?

PROTECT YOURSELF FROM SELF STORAGE SCAMS
Hidden or Additional Charges
This is probably the most common self-storage scam. You rent a unit for a knockdown price, maybe even including a free month, but once you’ve moved everything in, the rent goes through the roof.
The owner knows you’re probably unwilling to move everything out again, or you may have signed a contract giving him the right to raise the rates.
Alternatively, you discover additional charges for things like lock rental, insurance, late fees, utility surcharges, additional security — all perhaps perfectly legitimate but never made explicit at the time you rented.
Neither Clean Nor Secure
Most self-storage facilities proclaim themselves to be secure and clean but a good number fall short of how you would probably define these terms.- Rat infestations including, in one case, rodent nests inside a sofa
- Leaking roofs leading to damaged contents
- Broken surveillance systems
- Unguarded and sometimes unmanned entrances, leaving site access open to anyone
- Poor security vetting of visitors

Avoid like the Plague

Because the plague is what your likely to find here, plague of RATS!! I stored here and the place is over run with giant furry rodents many left behind from the days of being a recycling centre and the close proximity to the towns rubbish dump
Then there is the two legged rat, aka Bernard Bailey the owner. He has all the usual Irish charm and blarney, (DESPITE BEING LISTED AS BRITISH) but woe betide trying to get your deposit back:
BAILEY, Bernard Patrick
- Correspondence address - 52 Kenilworth Road Sale M33 5DB - DOB - January 1969
- Appoined on - 20 October 2003 - Nationality - British - Country of residence - England
Once the furry rodents have eaten through your caravan, furniture or whatever possessions you are PAYING to store safely and securely and you decide to leave, they will send you a cheque, weeks late and for considerably less than what they actually owe you, at least they have done in my case
BE WARNED!!!! AVOID EASY ACCESS LIKE THE PLAGUE
Hiding behind 'its my staff' Mr Bailey refuses to take any responsibility for short changing me I received a ridiculous email from Peter Kevin - so called store development manager, who would appear to have difficulty developing a sandwich
Amongst his excuses for ripping me off he has sent a photo of some items allegedly left on site and claiming to rip me off for £25 clearance, these items were already on site when I moved in so they charge you for leaving behind their own rubbish!! The next fake charge listed is for £18.54 insurance, in the three years I stored there there has never been any insurance either charged or in my contract, I have no policy or paperwork for this so called insurance so beware!!!
Many thanks for your pageviews and helping to share this blog, over the coming months we will be adding twitter and facebook pages to further expose rip off self storage scammers
Please continue to send us your stories and we will highlight your case also
Our web designer has obtained a special domain name and will begin work this week on a dedicated Easy Access website
Our legal team will be preparing the case for court and we are recruiting students to spread the word
continue to follow and share ladies and gents - expose the RATS!!
So Ho Ho, it's off to court we will go
